Freezer monoblock replacement

We decommissioned and removed an existing faulty freezer mono-block and replaced it with a new RIVACOLD mono-block unit.

All panel work was made good, and we finished the job with a new strip curtain supplied by Kenfield Ltd to help maintain temperature control and day-to-day efficiency.

Project overview

The site had a mono-block system that had become unreliable, so the priority was a clean changeover with minimal disruption.

The new unit was selected to suit the existing cold room configuration, allowing us to retrofit the replacement and keep the footprint tidy.

The issue

When a freezer mono-block starts failing, performance and stability quickly become a concern.

A like-for-like replacement keeps downtime to a minimum, but the install still needs careful planning to ensure the room remains properly sealed and compliant.

Decommission and removal

We safely isolated the existing unit, decommissioned it, and removed it from site.

In the photos, you can see the old mono-block taken out and moved externally, ready for disposal, keeping the area clear for the new installation.

Installation of the new RIVACOLD unit

With the old equipment removed, we installed the new RIVACOLD mono-block and connected it into the cold room.

The internal photo shows the new unit in position, mounted neatly with pipework and electrics routed cleanly for a professional finish.

Panel work made good

After the replacement, we made good the surrounding panels and trims to restore a clean, sealed opening.

This step is vital for preventing air leakage and ensuring the unit can operate efficiently without fighting warm air ingress.

Strip curtain fitted for improved efficiency

To help retain cold air during access, we fitted a new strip curtain from Kenfield Ltd.

The strip curtain creates a practical barrier in busy environments, helping reduce temperature fluctuations and supporting overall freezer performance.

Result

A smooth changeover from a faulty freezer mono-block to a new RIVACOLD unit, with the room returned to a tidy, sealed finish.

With the additional strip curtain in place, the freezer is better protected during door openings, helping improve temperature stability and efficiency.

Need a freezer mono-block replacing

If your mono-block is struggling to hold temperature, becoming unreliable, or showing signs of failure, we can assess the setup and recommend the most suitable replacement, including removal, installation, and making good the cold room panels.
