We recently completed a cold room refurbishment while keeping the client fully operational throughout.
To protect stock and maintain continuity, we supplied a temporary refrigerated trailer for chilled storage during the works, then removed it once the room was back up and running.
Project overview
This project focused on improving the safety, hygiene and practicality of an existing cold storage room, with a smooth turnaround and minimal disruption on site.
The refurbishment included a full floor replacement, upgraded finishing details, and new shelving installed to suit day-to-day storage needs.
The challenge
The client needed the cold room refurbished without losing their ability to operate. That meant maintaining chilled storage throughout, coordinating each stage carefully, and returning the room to service as quickly as possible.
Scope of works
- Supply of a temporary refrigerated trailer to maintain operations while works were carried out
- Removal of existing shelving
- Removal of the existing floor
- Supply, cut to size, and installation of new anti-slip floor panels
- Supply and installation of new trims and silicone throughout the room
- Supply and installation of new shelving
- Removal of the temporary refrigerated trailer once the room was fully operational
How we delivered the refurbishment
1. Temporary chilled storage to keep the client operational
Before work began, we supplied a temporary refrigerated trailer so the client could continue operating while the cold room was refurbished.
2. Strip out and floor preparation
We removed the existing shelving and lifted the old floor, preparing the base for the new anti-slip panels. This stage is essential for a stable, clean finish and helps support long-term durability in high-use cold storage areas.
3. New anti-slip floor panels, trims and silicone
New anti-slip floor panels were cut to size and installed, followed by new trims and silicone throughout the room. These finishing details help create a clean, sealed environment that is easier to maintain in busy commercial settings.
4. New shelving installation and handover
With the upgraded floor and finishes complete, we installed new shelving and returned the room to service. The temporary refrigerated trailer was then removed once the room was fully operational.
The result
The client received a refurbished cold room with a new anti-slip floor, upgraded finishing details and new shelving, all delivered with a smooth turnaround and minimal disruption.
Importantly, operations were maintained throughout via temporary chilled storage.
